An Italian Honeymoon on Film
It was late September 2024 when my husband and I boarded a plane to Italy for our second trip abroad. This was our honeymoon.
Our journey wasn’t typical; we chose to venture through the not-so-touristy parts of Italy… which is very typical of us.
Where did we land? After an overnight in Milan, we drove the winding roads to Cogne, a small northwestern town part of Aosta Valley near the base of the oldest national park in Italy (Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso). There we stayed living the alps life, and daydreaming of escaping there for good. The second half of our honeymoon was spent in a small town called Vignale Monferrato. This is where we learned how wine is made, and what it’s like to be one of a few English speakers in an entire community. We pulled out our beginner Italian and made every effort to learn from the kind and patient people around us. I will relive these moments for the rest of my life, and someday, share more… for now, here are a few memories on film.
